Spring and summer can mean lots of pollen flying around. And all that pollen can lead to allergies for some kids and adults. Red, itchy eyes can result and sometimes eye drops are needed and can really help.
But most kids wiggle and squirm when you try to apply the drops so getting them in may be easier said than done. What to do?
Take heart — The Mamas have the solution! Follow this tip and in the blink of an eye (literally), those drops will be in — and they won’t mind a bit. Promise! Here’s the plan:
- Lay her down flat on her back.
- Have her gently close her eyes.
- Squeeze one or two drops onto the inside corner of her eye while she keeps them closed.
- Ask her to start blinking her eyes as she continues to lay flat.
- The medicine will make it’s way in, where it can start doing its job!
Just that easy, just that quick! Remember to always read the label carefully and use the correct dosage for your child. And, of course, never give prescription medicine to anyone except the person it was prescribed for.
P.S. This works for all eye drops, regardless of the purpose.

It works, it works!!! Putting eye drops in has gone from some horrible Clockwork Orange-esque scene of me hold the kids down, prying their eyes open and squeezing in the drops to them willing laying down on the bed, closing their eyes, me putting the drops in and them laughing as they blink and the medicine goes in. THANK YOU!!!!!!
