Stressed Out?

Life gets crazy sometimes. Nothing new there. But when the stress that accompanies all that craziness becomes chronic you pay the price.

It creeps into your body and before you know it, you can be suffering from a whole host of physical ailments including headaches, stiff neck, bloating, breakouts, fatigue, infertility, or sore shoulders and feet to name a few! Surprised?

Research has shown that stress affects women differently than men and we need to learn ways to calm our rattled nerves if we want to enjoy our lives and our families and make the most of each day.

Women are the emotional centers of their families and when they start to go under, everyone is at risk. If we don’t stop and take care of ourselves when things get tough, we won’t be much help to anyone else. After all, there is only so much that a sick, overwhelmed or comatose mom can do.

Health.com has come up with some simple solutions for taking the stress-bull by the horns and taming him. A little advice from this list can go a long way towards helping you take the edge off and relax.

If you still aren’t convinced that addressing stress is important, remember that our children learn how to take care of themselves by watching us take care of ourselves. A picture is worth a thousand words!

So if you insist on being a martyr now and make a career out of living in a constant state of distress, don’t be surprised if your kids turn out to do the same thing once they grow up. And then all you will be able to do is watch them suffer, too. I know you don’t want that! Right?
