Make The Dark Side Of Summer Shine A Little Brighter!

We all count the days ’til that summer sun starts to shine and we get to go outside and have some serious summertime fun.

Everything’s going along swimmingly until one of the kids: a) gets a bee sting or a suspicious looking tick bite; b) winds up in the E.R. with heat stroke; c) catches the worst case of poison ivy EVER; or d) takes a tumble on her bike and ends up with a broken arm.

C’est la vie. It’s life. You can’t avoid every possible danger but there ARE things you can do to minimize the risk to yourself and your little ones. It’s also worth it to have a plan in place in case you run into some bad luck despite your best precautions.

The folks at ivillage health have put together  A GREAT SLIDESHOW of some of the more common hazards that seem to blossom along with the fruit trees once the air gets warm and the kids are out of school. There’s lots to learn here, so take a good, long look.

Whatever your plans may be, remember to stay safe and have fun!
