Back in December, as the holiday season shifted into high gear, we posted an article about drinking.
It wasn’t about drinking problems so much as a heads-up on how to set a good example for your kids around entertaining and the responsible use of alcohol.
So now that it’s April, and Alcohol Awareness Month, we’re revisiting the subject and encouraging you to take a minute or two to think about how alcohol fits into your family life, and to find out how it can affect children and families.
Did you know that 25% of U.S. children are exposed to drinking problems in their families? Or, that each day 7,000 U.S. kids under 16 take their first drink?
Visit the website for The National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism to learn more about the disease, its impact, and its treatment. Successfully treating alcohol problems can be done and in fact, is very possible. It’s all about that first step.
