Six-Year-Old Snags Dream Job

It’s never too early to start looking for work, especially if the perfect opportunity presents itself.

Apparently, that was what Sam Pointon of Leicester, UK, thought when he heard that the Big Boss at his favorite haunt, The National Railway Museum in York, England, was getting ready to retire.

Sam figured that even though he was only six, he would be perfect for the job. After all, he loves trains, he’s taken lots of train trips, he’s been to the museum a bunch of times, and he even has his own electric train set at home.

Running the museum and making it even cooler seemed like a piece of cake to him. So, he submitted his application, and the folks doing the hiring were so tickled that they offered him a job – as Director of Fun.

Sam gets to tell the bosses what to do to make the museum even more appealing to his peeps. And, as one of his perks, he got to spend a VIP day there with his family, which included a behind-the-scenes tour of the workshop where they fix, paint, and renovate the trains.

Not bad for a first grader. The mamas say “Well done, Sam! Keep it up and next thing you know, you’ll be running the joint for sure.”
