Well, here’s one for the books: The Sun reports that Zoe Pemberton, a 10 year-old from Essex, England, got fed up with Granny bossing her around one night, and decided she’d had enough. Then she did what other 10 year-olds may have fantasized about but would never actually do — she put her up for sale on EBay.
The starting bid was 99 pence, which in U.S. dollars works out to be about $1.57. Zoe described the “item” (her Grandmother, that is) as “rare and annoying, and moans a lot …. but also cuddly, and really good at word searches.”
Ebay had to take Granny off the site because, after all, there are laws against human trafficking. But before they did, she got a lot of attention and multiple offers were made!
Hmmmmm. Years ago, parents used to tell naughty children that they would be sold to the Gypsies if they didn’t shape up. Guess it’s pay-back time!
P.S. Granny is safe at home, and she and Zoe have made up.
