Pea-Wee Snacks

iStock_000005088045XSmallLooking for a great finger food that’s nutritious, easy to store and serve, soothing on gums that are teething and adored by the toddler set? Go no further than your freezer, mama! Pull out the frozen peas and pour a few into baby’s bowl. Little ones love to pick them up and chew on them and they are just the right size and shape to make it work. Great for fine motor development, too!

Plus, they actually are more nutritious when frozen as they lose a little in the cooking process. Who can argue with the no-cooking part? And, it’s a great way to introduce a vegetable that’s high in Vitamin C, Vitamin A, protein, fiber and folate. Cool!
