Right to Bear Arms?

child_gun_4441On April 30th the Connecticut State Senate passed a measure prohibiting children under the age of 16 from handling machine guns. Those of us who question why such a law is needed were not aware of the tragic death of little 8-year-old Christopher Bizil, who died after playing with a loaded Uzi submachine gun at a gun fair last year. Does that mean that it’s perfectly OK as long as you wait until AFTER the Sweet 16 party? According to the Children’s Defense Fund, more than 3000 children die as a result of gun violence each year. Mamas are perplexed.
