The Mamas are child nutrition advocates and big-time supporters of breastfeeding, but this is going way too far. According to USA Today, a woman in Kettering, Ohio was charged with child endangerment when she was seen nursing her infant while driving AND talking on her cell phone. The woman told officers that it was feeding time and she wouldn’t let her baby go hungry, even though she was well aware of the safety concern.
The legal issue is that she was driving with the child in her lap, not that she was breastfeeding in public. The woman faces 180 days in jail and an $1,800 fine if convicted. She may want to think about starting the weaning process.
